LG has commenced the global rollout of its CineBeam S 4K UST (model PU615U), a compact 4K Ultra Short Throw (UST) projector introduced earlier this year at CES. Positioned as a successor to the CineBeam Q, the new model delivers high‑resolution visuals in a small, space‑efficient form factor.
The CineBeam S uses UST optics to project large images from very short distances. At just 8.1 cm from a wall, it produces a 40‑inch image, and at 39.3 cm, it reaches up to 100 inches, eliminating the need for long‑throw distances or complicated mounting setups, making it ideal for compact living spaces.
Measuring 110 × 160 × 160 mm and weighing 1.9 kg, the projector is notably light and portable. Its projection engine delivers 4K UHD resolution at 3,840 × 2,160 pixels, powered by an RGB laser light source covering 154 percent of the DCI‑P3 color gamut. The projector also achieves a brightness rating of 500 ANSI lumens and a contrast ratio of 450,000:1. Built‑in stereo speakers support Dolby Atmos for immersive sound.
The CineBeam S runs on LG’s webOS smart TV platform, granting access to popular streaming apps through intuitive smart interfaces. Connectivity includes one HDMI port, two USB Type‑C ports, and support for wireless streaming via AirPlay 2 and Screen Share from smartphones, tablets, and PCs.
For simplified setup, the projector includes an Auto Screen Adjustment feature for automatic alignment, Screen Scaling & Shifting for digital picture positioning, and Wall Color Adjustment to optimize image output when projecting onto non‑white surfaces.
Control is offered via a redesigned remote or through a smartphone using the LG ThinQ app. A minimalist metallic exterior is designed to complement modern interiors without drawing attention.
