POCO has initiated the rollout of its first Over-The-Air (OTA) software update for the newly launched POCO F7 smartphone in India. The update, carrying version number OS2.0.102.0, focuses on improving camera performance and enhancing overall system stability.
According to the company, the improvements are based on feedback received from early users and the POCO community. The update addresses specific areas highlighted by users, particularly in camera optimization and thermal control.
Camera Upgrades Based on Community Input
The latest OTA brings several enhancements to the POCO F7’s camera system. These include more natural skin tones and facial details in portraits, along with sharper photo quality across various lighting conditions. POCO says the camera now offers improved facial contrast, better brightness accuracy, and clearer images.
The update also improves HDR performance by balancing highlights in bright areas like the sky, reducing overexposure. Additionally, outdoor photography has been fine-tuned to deliver more realistic colour reproduction, especially for greens and landscapes.
System Enhancements and Security Update
Beyond the camera, POCO has further optimized the device’s thermal management system to ensure consistent performance. The update also includes the June 2025 Android security patch, strengthening the device’s security framework.
POCO has confirmed that a follow-up update, internally referred to as OTA3, is already in the works. It is expected to be released by the end of August 2025 and will include additional refinements and new features.
The POCO F7 was launched with a focus on performance and user-driven development. This first update marks a step forward in refining the user experience based on real-world feedback.
